The size of Solid State Disk (SSD) is smaller when compared to hard disk drive 2.5 ", the new SSD is smaller about 90 percent, and its capacity to reach 1TB. This is the breakthrough product the next generation technology from Toshiba and Keio University in Tokyo. The researchers from Toshiba and Keio have successfully cram 128 NAND flash chips and one controller to the size of it, working on 2GBps. This is roughly the same speed as a standard consumer SSD.But the researchers claim that this 70% more efficient use of resources than the normal SSD. Next generation technology from SSD Thoshiba physical size is much smaller, cheaper production costs. Yet there is one major problem that can prop the market acceptance in the future. That is not the industry standard for this next generation technology. In addition this technology will be faced with a form factor SSD mSata approved. mSata a Samsung mini card, about the size of business cards. According to Toshiba and Keio University, the prototype of the next generation of technology is ready for production SSD in 2012.
