The next generation of vehicle technology has been tested in the Arizona deserts. Testing of next generation technology conducted to determine whether these technologies can be used one time in space exploration missions. "We're here to test a planetary exploration mission by using this vehicle and we set up the experiment is just like a real mission," says Mike Gemhardt, NASA astronaut and manager of this project. The team of researchers from NASA's newest test the Lunar Rover Electric, which has become part of routine activities, to run if it can be used for exploration of the Moon in the future. Next generation technology from Electric Lunar Rover vehicle which is run by using this battery, the size of a small car and has 12 wheels which allows it to be moved into any direction.
Black Point Lava Flow in the Arizona desert was chosen as the location for this experiment, because the location is filled with sand storms, rolling hills and extreme temperatures: as the type of environment that exist on the moon.
